The extra foot on the PENN setup helps you cast heavier lures farther into open water. The shorter KastKing rod offers tighter maneuverability in tight spots or heavy cover. You choose the 7-foot model for open water reach. You pick the 6'6-inch version for precision in confined areas. Both lengths are standard for their respective fishing styles.
